This is how it all started:
One day I was with a colleague, Keith, at a Cash
& Carry looking at FAX machines and stuff for the office.
It was hot and clammy weather and air-conditioning was on every ones mind, when suddenly
we turned a corner and there in front of us fully laid out was a 15 foot round swimming
pool for only £199 (+VAT).
This was a great bargain and not to be missed we both wanted one there and then, BUT being
good family men we both sought the approval of our respective wives.
My wife Toni at first was not to impressed by what
she thought was a paddling pool, and an expensive one at that.
As much as I would loved to have bought one, I couldn't without Toni being happy (it's
love you know).
However when Toni discovered, upon a visit to a pool centre, just how big and deep a 15 foot pool was, she though differently about it, (it's a woman thing, changing minds and all that) but much to my dismay when Keith and I returned to the Cash & Carry all exited like a big kids at Christmas, they had all gone, Boo Hoo.
But it was to late, I had the go-ahead from the wife
and there was no stopping me, I was searching the web, reading books and visiting pool
show sites, some pools looked terrific.
Keith and I visited a local show site close to our place of work, the water was so crystal
clear and tempting I nearly jumped in (it was a hot day).
So there you have it, no turning back once I discovered how cheap a pool could be, we were "up for it"
