"Nothing" has changed for a little while on this site, it's been unchanged for ages
But I've added some more to the Gallery "No25" and have a new feature on the left hand side
A new button for other projects
My pool has been finished for some time so I've added the pools final Gallery
Just some gardening to sort out
However I would like to continue with "Other Projects"
If you would like your project featured please let me know send me some pic's
a general location (nearest big town etc.) and I'll put you on with an e-mail link if you don't mind

All the plumbing done heater working and the pool is nice and warm, at times I thought I'd never get there but now it's almost done
I've got most of the decking finished with just a few final touches
It's been a year now I didn't think it would take this long, but the end of the project is in sight the pool is great I still can't believe that we did it everyone is enjoying the pool we've had lots of friends over and the children seem to be popular at school all of a sudden
It has been very worth while and would recommend a DIY pool project to anyone, my supplier Olympic have been great, very helpful at every stage I would highly recommend them
Very nearly done "HOORAY"

Everything is accelerating to a conclusion, while I was waiting for the liner to be made, I was getting on with the decking and making good progress

Then the call came, the liner was finished this was the biggest milestone yet, things were at fever pitch, the boiler and the heat exchanger were on order and coming soon
The liner was installed very quickly by two nice men from Olympic Pools and the filling began
By this time the top had been made and was delivered, a plain wooden top stained mahogany
With the liner in and the top on, it just left the two visible sides to be clad
But rather than return to the decking, I put full effort into getting the heating system up and running
Nothing is ever straight forward the boiler was suppose to go into the plant room, but the vertical flue (which can't be cut short) prevents this, so into the shed with it and a whole lot more plumbing
Life would be so dull without plumbing problems (NOT)

27th May 02
The weather finally improved and I've finished the floor
So I've started on the outside of the pool putting up batons for cladding etc.
Also managed to install mains water to the pool room ready for the heater and a second tap in the garden, This tap will be 22mm making it faster to fill and refill the pool.
The plant room is almost finished too
I've had the pool measured and the liner is being made now, it's getting very close to completion

Decking is next and a set of steps to exit the pool

5th April 02
Good weather is back so I can get on "hopefully finished soon"

After a very slow winter things are picking up, most of the floor is done and the fourth wall is finished and rendered, I'm just cleaning up some of the rendering to make sure it's smooth and then I'll finish the floor

5th February 02
The bad weather is subsiding and I've managed to get on with some more rendering

mean while the pool room has been clad and varnished (pic's on soon)
the whole project seems to have slowed down which is frustrating
however the good weather is returning and hopefully so will enthusiasm
once again the pool is prematurely full of water but it does drain quickly
I'm getting on with rendering and laying the floor in-between the weather
but the next indoor step is the pool room plumbing "YIPPEE"

22nd December 01
Youngest sons birthday today Adam is now 12
I feel very old
Not a lot happening due to the weather, this rendering lark is proving a bit tricky
However, I've finished wiring the pool room
The snow is now the big hold up.
Wood has been delivered for cladding on the inside of the pool room and the sides of the pool but can't get on, things have come to a grinding halt.
And yet again the pool is filling with water prematurely
(never mind soon be Christmas)

12th December 01
Now three walls are complete the rendering has started
With the short winter days and the cold weather it's proving difficult
The arrival of the pool room has made a big difference

Cables have been laid and a lot of the electrical work completed
